The Wachowskis keep reaching for something more and they were very successful this time, unlike
Cloud Atlas, which blundered into the ridiculous and suffered some truly ham-handed acting by the mega-star cast. Unlike that oopsie, this is an amazing show full of great characters, a brilliant cast, fantastic music and an inspired production. It's an interesting platform to explore some LBGT issues, too, as if this was in collaboration with Armistead Maupin (I don't think it was, though). I wonder how much of that was the impetus for the show, initially? It occasionally feels heavy-handed but it's all with purpose. So be warned; this show has a
lot of sexuality in it.
The cast is perfect and the great Tom Tywker is involved; directing and soundtrack!
Special and most definitely
not for the casual viewer, who will be lost and mystified. I don't mean that as an insult but if your bar of criteria is set at
Two and a Half Men, then you're not going to like this.
But this show is...
epic.
