Insanely ambitious epic that mostly doesn't work. Visually stunning, but the plot is so purposefully messy that it takes all of the enjoyment and entertainment out of it. It's such a relief when there's a plain old action scene! Still, the few moments that take a breath and tie things together are actually
almost worth the
three hours of film. I think folks that say they liked this are secretly kidding themselves.
