Movie | Son of Dracula | Liked It

Hilarious. Count Alucard...fantastic!

Movie | Elfi Hopkins: Cannibal Hunter | Didn't Like It

It was fun watching Ray Winstone together with his real-life daughter, Jaime, who is the star of this movie that's somewhat like a stoner, far gorier version of Veronica Mars with less plot development. But that's about it. She's got some puss on her; in a constant state of growl.

Movie | Mr. Moto's Gamble | Liked It

Not quite as good as the first film but still worth watching.

Movie | Equinox | Liked It

Awesomely bad B-movie creature feature that co-stars Frank Bonner (Herb Tarlek from WKRP in Cincinnati) and Ed Begley, Jr. does assistant camera work. It's cheesy in the best possible way and yet it's still a bit creepy. But nobody is going to lose any sleep over it these days.

TV | Impastor | Liked It

Nice to see David Rasche (Sledge Hammer!) in action again and I've always liked Sara Rue - in an adult sitcom about a loser who ends up assuming a gay pastor's life.

TV | The Jim Gaffigan Show | Liked It

At what point will they stop making shows exactly like this? I don't know but this one was cute enough and it's good to have something light when I've been watching so many other dark shows. It can't be all doom and gloom.

Movie | Valerie and Her Week of Wonders | Liked It

I finally got around to this artsy cult classic about a young girl going through puberty after all these years. Everything is symbolic (human sexuality can be a frightening thing), there are vampires, magic, witches and evil priests...all set in this oddly medieval setting. Gorgeously filmed and the script is intentionally vague about what the heck is going on, I'm sure I'll never see it again. It was mildly interesting and I'm glad I saw it, if for no better reason than I can check it off my list now.

TV | Jericho | Really Liked It

We saw this and absolutely loved it when it came out. So when it popped up in reruns on some obscure cable station, we started watching it again. Though it does feel a little dated (but not much, really), we were enjoying it so much that we got sick of waiting for the next episode. So we bought it on DVD. Fantastic!

TV | Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll | Didn't Like It

Though it certainly wasn't bad, it just wasn't compelling or interesting enough. I also had a hard time believing that any of the actors were their characters.

Movie | Non-Stop | Liked It

Though it's been done before and often times better, this was still a fun action movie. The thing I really enjoyed about it was the cast that featured actors from The Strain, Tyrant and Halt and Catch Fire.

TV | Humans | Really Liked It

Incredible cast, including alumni from Ideal, The IT Crowd and Utopia. Good show, with a fresh feel based on an old, rather tired topic. Interestingly, this doesn't have an AMC vibe to it. I believe they just threw money at it; it's really a British show, which is a very good thing.

Movie | As Above, So Below | Liked It

Neat little movie with a modern Indiana Jones sort of feel combined with a bit of horror, though I still hate handheld camerawork. Same director as the very good Devil.

Movie | Think Fast, Mr. Moto | Liked It

Setting the horrific racism aside, this was a rather fun movie that kept us on our toes. Think fast indeed, Mr. Moto.

TV | The Spoils Before Dying | Liked It

Another project that probably was a lot more fun and funny on paper.

Movie | Silent Hill: Revelation | Didn't Like It

I didn't think this was good but I watched the whole thing. I still think the storyline is compelling and this sequel features some bit parts for some great actors. Malcolm McDowell and Carrie-Anne Moss were really great but Sean Bean's fake accent was distracting.

Movie | Resident Evil: Retribution | Liked It

The acting, dialogue and editing conspire to make this no more than a visual experience. There's absolutely nothing scary and I felt nothing for any of the characters. That's too bad because it actually could have been something a bit special. The action was still fun though and I'll see the next installment which will supposedly be the last in the franchise. We'll see.

TV | Shut Up and Drive! | Liked It

Interesting how they're really trying to mimic certain qualities of Top Gear. Here, it's in the epic cinematography. What all of these shows forget is the cars themselves. That's the whole point and they miss it just about every time. Instead, they focus on hosts who 9 times out of 10 aren't that interesting or can even be downright grating on the nerves to watch.
