Movie | The Crazies | PASS
Very good remake of the 1973 original. It's your basic, familiar, zombie apocalypse set in a small town. But instead of eating you, they just want to kill you in some horrible way. Surprisingly good, mostly due to Olyphant and plenty of action. A PASS!
Movie | Arthur 3 | Pass
The first installment in this creative and original series was superb. The second was memorable, but not particularly entertaining. This one was the opposite - entertaining, but not all that memorable. Still, well worth watching - a Pass!

TV Movie | Jesse Stone: Innocents Lost | Fail
What? How could this fail?!?
Well, it isn't horrible. But, by this point in time in this excellent series of TV movies based on the hugely successful books, it should have been excellent. Instead, it's scene after scene of Selleck moping around and being cruel to his dog. It's ridiculous, there's no character development, the dialogue patter just doesn't work here and you just want to kick Stone in the neck. Shoulda been a PASS.

Movie | Salt | Pass
Get past the initial prison torture scene and the rest of the movie is pretty good. Jolie...is getting sort of odder and odder by the movie...

Movie | Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll | PASS
Andy Serkis kills it as infamous musician and entertainer Ian Dury in this biopic about the Godfather of punk music (and the related British funk and new wave music that followed). Fantastic and not an easy watch.

Movie | Circuitry Man | Pass
Low budget, dated (very 80s), cyberpunk horror with bad acting, a ridiculous script and poor production values. Despite all of the negatives, I really like the nightmarish qualities and enjoyed every minute. A cult classic, if there ever was one.

Movie | Hunter Prey | PASS
SUPER cool low budget scifi about soldiers tracking an escaped convict. Fantastic cinematography and soundtrack add to the interesting script. While not terrifically original, I loved every minute of it and it was a definite PASS!

Movie | Race | Pass
I actually enjoyed this one. The animation is a little hit or miss, sometimes not so great, sometimes really good. But the story was surprisingly engaging to me. I can see why others wouldn't like it - it's not particularly anything new and it's aimed at an older audience (teens and adults probably). Still, I rather enjoyed it and watched the whole thing.
Movie | Chop Shop | Pass
So real it seems like a documentary, this film traces a brief period of time in the life of a orphaned 12 year old Latino boy and his older sister who barely scrape by in an area of Queens known as the Iron Triangle. Very good all around, if not particularly happy-happy (though, it's not terribly depressing, either). Interesting usage of incidental music only. A Pass.
