Movie | The Raid: Redemption | Pass
After all of the hype, I must admit that I was a bit disappointed. This is a mix of Ong Bak (for the Thai connection), The Game of Death, La Horde and any other action flick that requires the good guys to travel different levels of a building fighting bad guys. This movie had some great martial arts, cinematography and music, but there really wasn't much of a story and the plot twists were not all that surprising. The 80s style ending was fine, if a bit underwhelming too. Still, this is a must see for martial arts and action movie fans. I just wish it had more depth. Then it would have been a PASS.

Book | Twistern | PASS
A book unlike any other and a must read for lovers of obscure cinema. Twistern: 50 Twisted Western Movie Reviews is super fun and you need a copy right now!
Movie | World Without End | Pass
Terrible special effects and acting don't ruin this precursor to Planet of the Apes, which explored similar themes (to much greater success...and with a much larger budget). Super cheesy goodness!

TV | Comedy Bang Bang | Fail
I barely could sit through the pilot. Why, oh why, do they make shows like this? They must think the content is funny. It isn't. I'll be surprised if this show lasts long.
TV | Breaking Bad | PASSPASSPASS
From one of the guys behind The X Files (and the spinoffs The Lone Gunman and Harsh Realm) I don't remember why I didn't like this show when it first came out. I think I just felt so bad for Walter. But, I've tried it again and I'm seriously hooked. What a fantastic show, mainly due to the acting and the storyline! If you love Weeds, Sons of Anarchy and similar shows, then you really must try Breaking Bad!
All hail the King!

Movie | Welcome to the Club | PASS
Fantastic documentary about the female forerunners of rockabilly (aka rock and roll). Full title: Welcome to the Club: The Women of Rockabilly.

Movie | Island of Lost Souls | PASS
Simply marvelous and hugely iconic. Where does the influence of this movie start and end? Just don't expect to see a lot of Lugosi, who did it just for the money.

Movie | After Hours | Pass
Seen it before, didn't live up to what I remembered. Cool supporting cast, interesting atmosphere, but the lead can't really carry it and the plot is ultimately unsatisfying. Still, worth a rental.
TV | Hatfields & McCoys | Pass
The first episode was a bit boring, but the second really picks up. Costner and Paxton are fantastic, while Berenger is nearly unrecognizable (but as amazing as ever).
TV | Longmire | Pass
While not treading any new ground, I thoroughly enjoyed this show. It's a throwback and I mean that as a compliment. Looking forward to future episodes.
