Despite Richard Ayoade (
The IT Crowd,
Man to Man with Dean Lerner,
The Mighty Boosh, etc.) providing one of the voiceovers, this wasn't very engaging. I think it works better as a show for children without trying to speak to adults. That's fine, just not what I was expecting. Plus, puppets are so often dumb. They are mildly interesting here because they are manipulated with sticks and their mouths appear to be animated (well, I might add). But it's not enough to add up to an interesting show. Is this the end of Ayoade's brilliance? I find that hard to believe. He just needs to do his own projects.
